History

The Sydenham Park Soccer Club was founded and known originally as Sydenham Park Junior Soccer Club in 1987. The clubs first ground was at Kings Park Secondary College (now known as Copperfield College) on Gillespie Road in Kings Park

The club changed its name and club logo in 1992 to Sydenham Park Soccer Club to broaden its horizon and introduce a senior squad in conjunction with relocation of ground at Sydenham Reserve on Sydenham Road, Taylors Lakes (to what is now Bunnings Watergardens, on Keilor Melton Hwy).

Following great success at all levels, in 1998 the club relocated once again to its current home at Keilor Lodge Reserve. Sydenham Park Soccer Club is proud to be one of the premier community soccer clubs in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. The club continues to provide our players a fun filled experience in skill management, exercise, teamwork, leadership, discipline and fair play.

The club now provides opportunities to senior players, female players and for junior players as young as 6 years of age.

The goals and objectives of Sydenham Park Soccer Club can be defined as follows:

  • To be a sought after destination in relation to player development, with benchmark measures in place at Sydenham Park Soccer Club in all aspects of coaching and junior development, refereeing and club administration.

  • Opportunities for all coaches, players, administrators and referees at the club to be able to develop to their potential.

  • To continue to promote the positive culture and leadership that is present at Sydenham Park Soccer Club.

  • Keen to promote as a strong community value our stance on non-violent behaviour and positive role modelling for young people.

  • To move into NPL and compete at the highest level

The 30 Year Anniversary Logo (1987 – 2017)

As part of the 30 year anniversary of the club, we will be introducing a new logo for season 2017 marking a commemorative milestone in the club’s history and all playing strips and associated merchandise would have the 30 year logo applied. We would like to thank all player, parents, sponsors and committee member’s that have been involved in the club over the years as the passion by all has allowed us to succeed and get to where we are today. In coming weeks we will also be communicating key events during the year celebrating our milestone.

Finally, we would ask everyone to scour through their memorabilia and memories and help us fill those gaps in our history. If you have anything that relates to the club, be it news clippings, photos or just recollections, could you please send them to us so that we can build a full and comprehensive record of the history of this great club. Email material to info@sydenhamparksc.com.au or bring it to the club. We will copy it and return it to you as soon as we are able.

The future is certainly looking bright for Sydenham Park Soccer Club and year on year we are getting stronger.
